  Religious Observance Meal Accommodations
Meal plan modification will be activated 1 month prior to the start of each holiday. Please select a holiday below:

Kosher Meals
Students who wish to eat kosher meals daily can transfer the standard meal plan to Hillel to cover 100% of the costs. Chef-prepared kosher lunches are served daily and dinners are served Sunday through Friday. If you do not choose the kosher meal plan, you can still eat an occasional individual meal at Hillel and have it count as one of the meals in our weekly meal plan. However, only 70% of the cost of individual meals is covered by your meal plan and you will have to pay the difference. Walk-ins with payment at the door are accepted for all meals except Sabbath and holiday meals. Reservations and payments in advance are required for Sabbath lunch, dinner and special holiday meals. For more information, visit the Hillel web site or call them directly at (734) 769-0500.

Ramadan 2008 September 1 - October 1
University Housing offers alternative meal options for Muslim students with meal contracts who have different eating requirements during the period of Ramadan. Residents can apply for a board rebate for the Ramadan period by completing a Board Termination Request form available on-line http://www.housing.umich.edu/dining/ramadan.html. In addition to the options available through University Housing, the Muslim Community Association will be providing free dinner to Muslim students every night during the month of Ramadan. The Muslim Community Association Ann Arbor Mosque is located at 2301 Plymouth Road 665-6675.
