Early Move-In
All residents who participate in the Early Move-In Program will be charged a per diem fee of $84 per day.
Advance registration for Early Move-In will be available during the summer. Early Move-In for residence halls begins on Thursday, August 22, 2013.
The first official day of fall Move-In for incoming freshmen is Sunday, August 25. If you must arrive on campus before this date, you can use the Early Arrival Program for temporary accommodation until your permanent room or apartment is ready.
If you must arrive on campus early, please be aware that many services will not yet be fully operational. In some instances, you may need to adjust your schedule or find alternative options until the residence halls are officially open.
If you will be sharing a room, please remember that your roommate(s) will be joining you in a few days. We strongly recommend that you wait to make final decisions regarding sleeping spaces and furniture configurations until your roommate(s) arrive and decisions can be made jointly.
Residence Halls: When you arrive on campus, go to your Community Center to check in, receive directions to your room and to learn more about moving in.
Northwood I, II or III: Go to the Community Center at Cram Place to check in. If you are taking a cab or shuttle to the Community Center, ask the driver to wait for you while you pick up your room key; then you can be dropped off near your assigned apartment. Otherwise, you may have a long hike from the Community Center to your apartment.

Access to Residence Halls
All residence hall exterior doors are locked 24/7 and entrances are controlled by an electronic card reader access system. Your U-M ID card is encoded to permit access to your residence hall. Be sure to carry your Mcard at all times for building access.
Mail Services
Residence Halls: Mail and packages will be distributed during the Early Move-In period. A picture ID is required to claim packages from your package pickup location.
Northwood I, II or III: Due to space limitations, the Community Center at Cram Place cannot accept deliveries during the Early Move-In period. If you plan to ship items, be sure to schedule them to arrive after you have moved into your apartment so you are able to personally accept the package/s.
