undergraduate housing: Residence Hall Repertory Theater and Talk to Us

Residence Hall Repertory Theater and Talk to UsResidence Hall Repertory Theater (ResRep) and Talk to Us (TTU) are theater troupes developed in 1986 by Residence Education to address crucial student issues in a creative and dynamic manner. Residence Education programmers wanted to expand on more traditional and information-based programming formats. These innovative troupes create viewing experiences designed to evoke compassion and understanding in their audiences, more than just an intellectual understanding of both social and interpersonal issues. Hillel is also a founder of TTU and sponsors both troupes with University Housing.

In addition to performing extensively in the residence halls, the troupes have also performed for many University departments and organizations. The troupes have also traveled to Chicago, Washington, D.C., and Atlantic City to do performances.

Residence Hall Repertory Theater
ResRep troupe members create and perform original scripts dealing with contemporary social and personal themes. Music, poetry, dance, improvisation and comedy are combined to create theatre experiences that are illuminating, educational, challenging and entertaining. They perform throughout the year in residence halls and other venues on campus.

If you are interested in having one of the ResRep troupe perform or would like more information about participating, contact Lyndsay Michalik (ResRep Director) at 647-3525.

Talk To Us
Talk To Us is an interactive theater troupe whose members are undergraduate students from a variety of academic and personal backgrounds. TTU explores issues pertinent to student life; topics covered during the course of the year include racism, sexism and diversity, as well as interpersonal and social issues. Audience participation is welcomed and encouraged during the performances to provoke thought and comment.
