Room Assignment Guidelines
Space in Mary Markley Hall is available on a first-come-first-served basis for each of the half terms, Spring and Summer, and for the full Spring/Summer Term. Northwood III apartments are only available with a May-to-May option - assignments began in January for students currently living in University Housing. Students currently enrolled for Winter Term have the priority for choice of room or apartment type with applications beginning March 19, 2008 at 8am. available in room 1011 Student Activities Building. Current Winter Term students need to be registered for at least one of the half-terms, Spring or Summer, to be eligible to live in their building the entire May through August occupancy period. Students with May-to-May contracts in Northwood III do not need to be registered for Spring/Summer, but must be registered for both Fall and Winter Terms 2008-2009.

It is important to submit an application as early as possible for the best consideration of available space.

Although we always do our best to provide students with their preferred accommodations, University Housing is unable to guarantee that we will meet every student's first choice preferences.

Students with Disabilities or Chronic Health Conditions
If you have an accommodation need based on a disability or chronic health condition, complete the Disabilities, Chronic Health Conditions and Food Allergies section of your housing application. It is very important that you contact the Housing Information Office as soon as possible concerning your specific needs. You may speak with a Housing Advisor at (734) 763-3164 regarding your accommodation requirements.

Fall/Winter Housing
Undergraduate students who plan on living in a University residence hall or apartment for the academic year beginning Fall Term 2008 should complete the pertinent information on the Housing application. Graduate students are not eligible for Fall/Winter Term residence hall rooms, but may apply for Northwood Community Apartments.

Spring Half-Term: The Weekday 9 plan allows you to select 9 meals from the 15 meals available Monday through Friday. In addition, you will have $160 credit in your Entrée Plus account (see below) to purchase supplementary meals. You may choose to convert your Weekday 9 plan to a Weekday 15 plan and enjoy all meals served weekly, as well as the $160 Entrée Plus credit for an additional $120 per term.

Summer Half-Term: The Any 9 plan allows you to select 9 meals from the 18 meals available throughout the week during summer term. In addition, you will have $160 credit in your Entrée Plus account (see below) to purchase supplementary meals. You may convert your Any 9 meal plan to an Any 13 plan at no extra cost, but the $160 Entrée Plus credit will be eliminated. You may also enjoy all 18 meals available each week during summer term for an additional $120 per term.

While we will be very pleased to have you enjoy your meals with us, the meal plan is optional during the Spring/Summer Term, and may be changed or canceled within the first two weeks after check-in for the full term or either of the half terms.

Entrée Plus
Entrée Plus is a prepaid cash plan that works like a debit account with your Mcard (UM ID card). It's fast and convenient, and means you don't have to carry as much cash as you might otherwise. You can use your account to purchase additional meals in the Mary Markley dining hall. (Other residence hall retail dining locations are closed for the Spring/Summer Term). You can also use Entrée Plus at eateries in the Michigan Union, Michigan League and Pierpont Commons. Residence hall and Northwood laundry facilities as well as residence hall vending machines also accept Entrée Plus. You can sign up for an Entrée Plus account at any time.
