TERM BREAK HOUSING

Your residence hall is closing and you can't go home between terms?
You don't have a place to stay in Ann Arbor during term break?

The Northwood Short-term Housing apartments (http://www.housing.umich.edu/northwood/short_term.html) have a limited number of spaces available for students who must leave their residence hall on the Fall Term Closing date of December 23, 2009 at 7:00 PM. A special rate of $15.00 per night is available for such students. You must vacate the apartment by January 4, 2010. To make a reservation you should email Kathy Owens at kmann@umich.edu (her phone number is 734-764-4276). She will need to know your name, your UM ID number, your gender, the name of another student of the same gender with whom you would want to share an apartment, if there is such a person (they would also need to send an email), and the dates which you would be staying. Note: there is no UM bus service on Dec. 25 or Jan. 1.

University Housing has also arranged a special group rate with Extended Stay America (1501 Briarwood Circle, Ann Arbor) near Briarwood Mall, which is out State St. near the I-94 expressway. An AATA (Ann Arbor Transit Authority) bus stop is close to the facility. Students with their Mcard can travel on the buses at no charge.

The available single-occupancy studios include a queen-size bed, TV, bathroom and kitchenette. The kitchenette includes a full-size refrigerator, stove-top, microwave oven, coffee-maker, toaster, and cooking and eating utensils. The rate for the entire period between Dec. 23, 2009 (when the residence halls close) and Jan. 4, 2010 (when the residence halls open) is $39.99, plus 11% tax, per night. The rate for two people sharing such a studio, and sharing the bed, is $39.99, plus 11% tax, per night. Double efficiencies for two people, with two single beds, are $52.99, plus 11% tax, per night. Payment is made at the time of check-in. Cash, traveler's checks, and credit card payments are accepted (no personal checks). Wireless internet access is available for a one-time flat fee of $4.99.

When making a reservation, in order to receive the above rates (only for stays of seven consecutive days or longer), you must make reference to Term Break Housing and ask to speak with Anna at Extended Stay America in Ann Arbor at 734-332-1980 or by visiting in person. You will be asked for your UM ID number.
