You'll probably want to have access to your e-mail and the Internet as soon as possible after you move in. You can get help from ResComp (the Residential Computing Program), which provides information technology services and support to residents of University Housing. In-room connections are available immediately, and to help you get connected, ResComp will provide you with their networking guide when you move in. In addition, there's a ResComp Community Learning Center (CLC) or computing site available in every residence hall 24 hours a day (opening shortly after Move-In). ResComp has answers to many frequently asked questions about room connections, using the computing sites, what equipment to bring with you to campus, and more.

For more information on using your computer at Michigan, check out the Information Technology Central Services' Orientation to UM Computing site.

Look for ResComp's "inoculation stations" for an opportunity to clean and protect your computer, help prevent virus and worm outbreaks and learn more about personal computer security. It all happens in a light and festive atmosphere and at convenient locations and times beginning during Move-In.
