Personal Property Protection - Title Text

There are ways you can help protect your personal property during Move-In and throughout the academic year, and make it easier to recover your property if it is stolen. Please read and follow the tips in our InfoSeries on Personal Property Protection; in fact, it would be wise to fill out and copy the Personal Property Inventory Card (pdf) even before you come to campus. Please do what you can to help prevent thefts in your residence hall and elsewhere on campus. You'll be making it a safer and more pleasant environment for everyone.

You can further protect your property-and yourself- by helping to keep your room and residence hall free of fire hazards. Our Residence Hall Fire and Electrical Safety Guide suggests many ways to prevent mishaps or even tragedies.

Insurance
The University of Michigan assumes no liability for loss or theft of, or damage to, personal property. Make sure your possessions are covered by homeowner’s insurance while you are on campus. More...
