Housing at the University of Michigan is your new home in Ann Arbor! With 15 halls and 12,500 residents, it is the 6th largest campus housing program in the country! We're proud to provide you with everything you need for living at Michigan.
Students wanting to send packages prior to their arrival may contact John's Pack & Ship (734-665-2664 or www.moveum.com) in Ann Arbor for storage and delivery service on a fee basis. This vendor has a contract with the University, and can store shipped items until Move-In.
For Move-In, send any trunks or boxes so that they arrive no more than one week before you do, but not on any of the main Move-In dates, August 26-29.* The amount of vehicular and pedestrian traffic limits our ability to handle deliveries to residence halls on these days. If your packages do arrive during this time, you may not have immediate access to them; therefore, bring with you any items you will need immediately on arrival (e.g., prescription drugs, traveler's checks). Each hall will have a pick-up center where you can go for your packages at specific times. Check with your hall's Community Center Community Center for specific information.
John's Pack & Ship can receive, store and deliver your parcels right to the room prior to your arrival. Your boxes will be in your room when you check in.
John's Pack & Ship is the only vendor authorized to provide shipping and storage service directly from the residence halls at the end of Winter term. (Use of this vendor's service is optional; all transactions are strictly between the vendor and the purchaser of the services.)
