English Language Program
The Northwood Community English Language Program offers English as a Second Language instruction to Northwood residents as well as non-residents. Classes for adults, school-aged children and teens, and preschool children are offered throughout the year. Beginning, intermediate, and advanced level courses are available. Course topics include English for everyday life, conversation, grammar, pronunciation, and a variety of others. The classes, which are conveniently located on North Campus, are small, reasonably priced, and taught by experienced professionals. Class participants can also become familiar with the local area and U.S. culture by joining field trips and social activities as well as by meeting with Conversation Partners who speak English as their first language.

The Language Program also offers native speakers of English opportunities to meet people, learn about other cultures, and practice teaching. The Volunteer Partners Program invites people who speak English as their first language to participate as classroom or conversation partners. In addition to these volunteer options, there are language teaching employment opportunities for both undergraduate students and experienced professionals.
