U-M Transportation for Northwood Community Residents

Several transportation options are available for students to travel between campus locations, and around town.

Many students find bicycles to be an efficient mode of transportation. Every residence hall, academic building and campus recreational facility has bicycle-locking areas so that bikes can be adequately secured when not in use.

Route maps and timetables are available from UM Transportation.UM Transportation Services logo

The U-M bus routes that specifically service Northwood Apartments and townhouse locations are:

  • Free, frequent
  • Multiple routes covering all UM Ann Arbor campuses

S.A.F.E Walk

The University’s Department of Public Safety (DPS) provides a free service designed as an alternative to walking alone at night. Student Assistant Field Employees (SAFEs) will accompany any member of the University walking between dusk and dawn within a 20-minute walking distance or one-mile driving radius of Central or North Campus. The SAFEWalk escorts are dispatched to the caller’s location from DPS at 734-763-WALK (734-763-9255). See UM Public Safety for more information.
