Parking Permits for Northwood III students
Northwood III students may apply for one parking permit. Parking spaces are limited, and students on a nine-month contract will be awarded parking permits through a lottery. Students who have signed Northwood III contracts by the dates below will receive an e-mail inviting students to an on-line application.

Applications will be drawn randomly until all available permits are awarded. Students whose names are drawn in the lottery will be notified by e-mail. Students on a 12-month contract are not required to enter the lottery system and may purchase a permit at any time.

Students moving in for Winter Term
A limited number of parking permits are available for students moving in at the start of winter term. Students may apply at the time of moving in or submit the on-line form at any time, located at the end of this page.

Temporary Vehicles
All temporary vehicles used by students, such as those which are rented or loaned, are required to have a temporary permit. These permits are available at the Community Center with proper documentation. Students selling and newly acquiring a vehicle are eligible for a temporary vehicle permit for up to 30 days for a fee of $5.00 for each two weeks. Temporary permits for this purpose will be given only if permanent permits (which will be required for newly acquired vehicles) are still available after the lottery.

Guest Permits
Permits for visitors are available at the Community Center for up to ten consecutive days. License plate numbers are required for guest permits. Guest permits must hang from the rear view mirror.

Motorcycles
Motorcycles may park without charge or permit in "Motorcycles Only" areas. However, if parked in a regular automobile space, rules for regular vehicles apply.

University Housing Parking Regulations
General policies as stated in the University Housing Parking Policies section apply to residents participating in University Housing permit lotteries who are ultimately issued a permit for a University Housing-operated lot.

Northwood-Specific Parking Regulations
Permits are assigned to a specific lot. The permit does not guarantee that a parking space will always be available in the specified lot. If no space is available in an assigned lot, vehicles with Northwood permits may be parked in other Northwood lots, subject to the same rules. Motor homes, trailers and boats are not allowed in Northwood Community Apartments lots.

2008-2009 Northwood Housing Parking Fees
All Northwood III permits expire May 3, 2009 regardless of when issued.

Residents must show proof of vehicle registration to obtain a permit.
