Early Arrival Program

The Early Arrival Program provides temporary housing for students who need to arrive on campus prior to Early Move-In. This program offers overnight accommodations starting Monday, August 5 and closes promptly at noon on Thursday, August 22. The cost for the program is $41.50/night (includes room only; meals are not included). You are eligible to participate if you are a U-M student registered for the fall term. We regret that we cannot accommodate guests or family members.

If you have a Housing contract, you may move into your assigned room or apartment on August 22 when temporary housing closes. The cost for Early Move-In is $84/day for room and board (includes two meals per day) until the beginning date of your contract. If you participate in the Early Arrival Program and stay in temporary housing, you will automatically be registered for Early Move-In to your assigned room or apartment.

Telephone messages for residents that come through the Residence Hall Community Center telephone will be posted on the bulletin board across from the Residence Hall Community Center only. Be certain to check the board often for your messages.

Mail

You are welcome to receive mail, although it is essential that you complete a change of address card before you move out so your mail can be forwarded. Please remember that this is your temporary address, so it should not be provided to anyone who must contact you in the fall, such as your academic department or bank.

Dining and Kitchen Facilities

Meal service and kitchen facilities are not available until early move-in begins on August 22. Dining Services will offer limited meal service during the early move-in period.

Housekeeping Services

Only limited housekeeping services are provided. Please provide your own bedding and towels. Bathrooms are cleaned daily, Monday through Friday. Residents are asked to empty their own wastebaskets using the trash receptacles located in the closet on each hallway. Housekeeping staff will lend cleaning supplies and equipment to residents who wish to clean their rooms during their stay.
