General Expectations for all ResStaff

  • Follow the University Housing Mission, Vision, and Values.
  • Seek to be a role model for residents in professional, academic and personal behavior.
  • Demonstrate a commitment to building community in the residence halls and at the Community Center.
  • Be available to residents - which will include guidelines around time away from the building and outside work/activities.
  • Model a commitment to multiculturalism and social justice.
  • Engage in positive interactions with fellow staff members.
  • Protect the rights of the community by consistently enforcing Community Living Standards.
  • Be available for training, staff meetings, planning and implementing programs, and personal interaction with residents.

Dates of Employment
Dates of employment for Spring/Summer ResStaff are April 28, 2008 through August 15, 2008.

Provisions will be made for Spring/Summer staff that are continuing as ResStaff in the fall to attend Fall Training and Teambuilding activities.

Spring/Summer Training session will be held on Saturday, April 12th, beginning at 1:00pm.

All staff must be available and prepared to assist in the tasks required for building turnover and to orient new students during Winter-Spring and Spring-Summer transitions. These activities may include (but are not limited to): room checks at resident departure; creating welcome packets and door signs for new residents; holding floor or house meetings for new residents and hosting new student orientation programs.
