| If you are not sure you want to return to University Housing for the Fall
2008 academic year, you have until March 6 for females and March 5 for
males to select a room/apartment and sign a contract by following the
deadlines for the campus-wide drawing. Do not sign a contract just "to
have something to fall back on."
It is strongly advised that current residents who want to return to University
Housing next year, even if they are not sure they are returning
to the University, sign a contract by March 6 for females and
March 5 for males. You may not be able to sign a contract after that.
If you do not sign-up to the residence hall system or Northwood III in
order to move to private housing, we cannot guarantee what may be available
in the future within University Housing.
If you wish to return to University Housing, but are waiting to hear
about a Resident Staff position before signing a contract for Fall 2008,
you should go through the sign-up process and sign a contract. If you
receive the staff position, your contract will be terminated when you
sign the Resident Staff Letter of Appointment.
Once signed, a University Housing contract is
legal and binding. It is a firm commitment to occupy and pay for the
specific residence hall space or apartment stated on the contract. All
University Housing residents, upon signing a contract, agree to abide
by all the terms of the contract, as well as the rules and regulations
of University Housing as outlined in Community
Living at Michigan.
Contracts will not be terminated for students to move
to non-University owned housing.
