Roommate/No Roommate Request
You may not participate in the same room/apartment contract signing if you wish to have a roommate different from the one/s you currently have.
Roommate(s) must meet eligibility requirements for the space chosen. Students living in University Housing wishing to be roommates must register online to participate in a drawing. Then, one student will register the roommate/s using the uniqname and PIN number(available online after registering) for the requested roommate. You can participate with a roommate from another hall or Northwood III apartment. If you select a roommate, your priority will be that of the student with the lowest priority
You may reserve a space in your selected room for a newly-entering freshman or transfer student or a student currently living off-campus . If you select an apartment in Northwood III, you can request a newly- entering transfer or a student who is currently living off-campus as a roommate.
For a student not currently living in University Housing, complete the Roommate Request card and hand it in during the room selection process. The roommate must meet University Housing eligibility for residence. New students' housing applications must be submitted by June 2, 2008 or all priority for roommate assignment is null and void. Currently enrolled students living off-campus must submit an application on March 12 or March 13.
During room/apartment selection for students without a specific roommate, vacant spaces in rooms/apartments must be filled before you may select a completely vacant room/apartment.
Two students wishing to be roommates cannot select a three-person room type and three students cannot select a four-person room type
Applying in Groups during Sign-up
University Housing recognizes the friendships that form both within and across residence hall communities. We make allowances for groups of students to apply for rooms during the Same Hall and Campus Wide room registration/ selection processes.
Groups consist of students who wish to reside together in one area of a building or floor as roommates and/or neighbors. Remember you must have a roommate to choose a double space. Group priority will be based on the lowest priority within the group.
For the Same Hall process, all students who wish to choose rooms together in the same area must first register for the drawing from January 22 - February 1. One of the students from the group must get the uniqname and PIN numbers (available online after registering for the drawing) from all who wish to be in the group and enter the group. Groups cannot exceed 8 students and at least half of the group must currently reside in the hall/Northwood III. Exception to this policy if West Quad and South Quad - you can only register a group if all group members reside in the hall.
All students who wish to select rooms together in the same area during the Campus Wide room selection process must first register for the drawing from February 15 - 22. One of the students from the group must get the PIN numbers from all who wish to be in the group and enter the group. Groups cannot exceed 8 people.
During room selection for students without a specific roommate, vacant spaces in rooms must be filled before you may select a completely vacant room.
Two students wishing to be roommates cannot select a three-person room type and three students cannot select a four-person room type.
