RESIDENCE HALL/NORTHWOOD III TIMELINE

January 16 - 24
Sign for Your Current Room

Students who wish to return to their current room/apartment for the next year and are eligible to do so. Between these dates click on the side link to electronically sign your contract. You may only sign for the room you are currently living in. If you wish to have a roommate who is not currently living in your room, you must participate in the same hall/Northwood III drawing.

January 23 - February 1
Register for Current Hall/Northwood III Drawing
Please note new start date. Any students who registered prior to January 23 must re-register, due to an error in our system. Students who want to return to their same hall, but not their same room for 2008-2009, must register online for the drawing between these dates. The drawing will determine the order in which students may select spaces after students have signed contracts for their same room. If you are planning to sign for your same room, you do not have to participate in the drawing. Those wishing to be roommates/group must follow the roommate/group process.

February 5
Drawing Results Posted
The drawing results will be posted at your residence hall February 5, 2008 and for Northwood III at the North Place. Please pay attention to your room selection time. If you cannot make your appointed time, you must arrange for a proxy in advance.

February 7
Select A Different Room in Your Current Hall/Northwood III
Students who wish to return to their current residence hall/Northwood III, but in a different room/apartment, select their room/apartment. You will need to check your Drawing Number and your appointed time on the posting at the front desk or North Place to know when and where you are to go to select your room/apartment. If you cannot make your appointed time, you must arrange for a proxy in advance .You must electronically sign your contract between February 14 and 19 or your room/apartment selection will be cancelled.

During room selection, vacant spaces in rooms/apartments must be filled before you may select a completely vacant room/apartment (see explanation)

February 8 - 13
Register for Campus-wide Northwood III Apartment Selection
Students who want to select an apartment in Northwood III for 2008-2009 must register online for the drawing. The drawing will determine the order in which students may select spaces after current Northwood III students have signed contracts. You must come to the Housing Information Office on February 20 at your designated time to select your apartment and sign your contract. Those wishing to be roommates/group must follow the roommate/group process.

February 14-19
Sign Contract for Selected Room
Students who selected a room in their current hall click on the side link for contract signing during these dates.

February 14 - 19
MLC Students Sign Contracts
MLC students who have selected rooms within their program space click on the side link for contract signing during these dates.

February 15
Northwood III Campus-wide Drawing Results
Northwood III campus-wide drawing results are emailed to students

February 15 - 22
Register for Campus-Wide Drawing
For either a different hall or if you missed your hall process

Students register online for the campus-wide drawing. This drawing is for students who want to move to a different residence hall or Northwood III, or for students who did not participate in their own hall drawing but have decided that they want to return to the residence halls or Northwood III. Those wishing to be roommates/group must follow the roommate/group details.

February 20
Select an Apartment for Northwood III campus-wide
Come to the Housing Information Office at you appointed time to select an apartment and sign a contract for the campus-wide process.

March 3
Campus Wide Drawing Results Posted

Drawing results for the campus-wide process will be posted on the web at www.housing.umich.edu after 2pm. The results will have your “Personal Time Slot” listed. You need to come to the area of the Maize and Blue rooms in the Student Activities Building (use Visitors Center entrance on Maynard St.) at your assigned time slot or you will lose priority for selecting a room.

March 5
Room/Apartment Selection and Contract-Signing for MALES
Male students come to the Student Activities Building in Drawing Number and Personal Time Slot order for selecting a room/apartment and then signing the contract. You must come in person or send a proxy for you at your Personal Time Slot or you will not be able to select a room until all other drawing participants have made their selections.

For students without a specific roommate during room/apartment selection, vacant spaces in rooms/apartments must be filled before you may select a completely vacant room.

March 6
Room/Apartment Selection and Contract-Signing for FEMALES
Female students come to the Student Activities Building in Drawing Number and Personal Time Slot order for choosing a room/apartment and then signing the contract. You must come in person or send a proxy for you at your Personal Time Slot or you will not be able to select a room until all other drawing participants have made their selections.

For students without a specific roommate during room/apartment selection, vacant spaces in rooms/apartments must be filled before you may select a completely vacant room.

March 19 Waitlist Sign Up
Waitlist sign-up for students with a 2008-2009 contract.
