2013 Spring/Summer Move-In
There are many ways to customize your space with bedding, lamps, accessories and more, but before you go shopping, here are the standard room furnishings we provide.
Also, download our list of What to Bring to Campus now. You’ll find it helpful for planning, shopping and packing.
Smooth your Move
- Arrival times/Check-in: When you arrive on campus on your move-in date, go to the Stockwell or Mosher-Jordan Community Center to check in and receive directions to your room. Your contract will indicate the hall you are assigned to.
- Early arrivals & overnight guest accommodations: If you need to arrive in Ann Arbor earlier than your move-in date or if anyone will accompany you for Move-In, we suggest that you make local hotel reservations for you and your guests. Contact the Ann Arbor Convention and Visitors Bureau to learn more.
- International students: Contact U-M's International Center for more information regarding your arrival on campus.
Shipping and Storage
Trunks, boxes and packages should arrive no sooner than your move-in date. Bring with you any items you will need immediately upon arrival (prescription drugs, travelers checks, essential toiletries and a change of clothing, for example).
Please note that once a package is delivered to the Community Center, Housing staff cannot move or deliver the package to your room. Check with your residence hall’s Community Center for more information.

Please note that the cable is digital only and there are no analog channels available. A digital TV that is cable-ready or a TV or other device with a digital tuner is required in order to receive all channels of the UMTV cable service.
To cancel your spring/summer cable service, please email cablevision@umich.edu. All roommates must be in agreement to cancel cable, and all roommates must be copied on your email cancellation request.
