Position Description:

The U-M Conference Services office is hiring staff to work this summer for the CS office during the NJATC Summer NTI Conference.  Conference Services offers its services to all University faculty and staff members who are organizing programs in their field of interest or hosting professional associations. Conference Services also work with non-University educational groups and professional organizations seeking to provide college-level programs for their clients and members.

 

Employment:

Summer employment for the NJATC Summer NTI Conference runs from approximately July 22, 2013 to August 2, 2013.  Student Staff is paid bi-weekly according to University Housing pay rates which begin at $8.75 per hour.   Hours may be available for up to a full 40 hours per week ($350 for the week), or may be available on a more limited basis. We will work around your class schedule.  Please feel free to inquire.

 

Qualifications:

     Friendly, responsible, personable, service-oriented attitude

      Available for most or all of the two weeks, July 22 -August 2, 2013

      Punctual, reliable, and self-motivated

     Able to problem-solve in a patient and calm manner

     Detail oriented

     Good verbal communication

     Knowledge of U-M campus and Ann Arbor points of interest

     Willing to work as part of a team

 

Job Responsibilities:

There are several different job categories such as driver, hotel concierge, bus coordinator, etc.

  • Assisting conference staff with a variety of tasks
  • Attending staff training and meetings, as required
  • Becoming familiar with all campus and Ann Arbor resource materials
  • Assisting with on-site conference registration, as needed
  • Providing direction and assistance to conference participants
  • Event management assistance
  • Serving as a conference information referral service
  • Assisting with conference tours and outings
  • Assisting building front desk staff, dining services and facilities with information

          ...and other tasks as required by Conference Services

Hours of Operation:   6 a.m. to 11 p.m. daily
