Cleaning Up and Recycling

Recycling Efforts - 2008 Move-In

1,395 cubic yards of cardboard
652 large bags of polystyrene foam block
54 large bags of foam pellets

That's a lot of reusable material that didn't go into a landfill. Help us do even better in 2010!

During Move-In, it's easy to recycle.

Most paper and containers can be recycled. Use the recycling/waste closet on your floor.

Batteries should be taken to the Community Center for disposal in the containers provided.

Sharps (needles, syringes and lancets) must be placed in special sharps disposal envelopes, available from your Resident Advisor or the Community Center. Follow the instructions on the envelope for proper disposal or learn more on the sharps disposal page.

You can continue recycling all year round by using the collection stations in your living area.

University Housing supports the nationally recognized recycling programs at U-M and encourages all residents to learn more about how they can participate in University Housing's sustainability efforts.
